The Education Development Service delivers many qualifications to accommodate for a diversifying audience that continues to evolve and change. These qualifications are often generic, adaptable to any vocational route approved by awarding bodies such as City & Guilds and OCR. All qualifications are recognised nationally and approved by QCA and listed under section 96/97. During a learner’s structured placement they will have the opportunity of studying towards one of two qualifications:
The OCR Preparation for Employment qualification addresses the on-the-job knowledge and skills that are developed through work experience activities.
It provides a young person with understanding and practical skills which will prepare them for the world of work – from preparation for work experience through to longer term career planning. The Qualification itself is available for delivery at Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2. The full award is the equivalent to 35.5 points.
The Progression Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace provides an introduction to Health & Safety and promotes safe working practices in the work place. The qualification consists of nine mandatory units including a multiple choice test taken online or as a paper based test. This level 2 qualification is equivalent to 46 points (Grade B GCSE).
Both qualifications listed above are accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and listed under section 96 as approved for delivery in schools and colleges.
